Glenda Kirkland Bridges
Dublin, GA – Glenda Kirkland Bridges, 73, of Dublin Georgia passed away Saturday December 17, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be held Wednesday December 21, 2016, at 2:00PM in Marie Baptist Church in Dublin, GA. Burial will be in Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Danville, GA. Rev. Bobby Hutto and Rev. Gary Horton will officiate.
Ms. Bridges was born February 25, 1943, in Ellijay Ga to Dorothy Corn Kirkland who survives and the late John Kirkland. Glenda was married to the late Melvin Bridges of Irwinton, GA
Glenda was a woman of faith in Christ her Savior and was a member of Marie Baptist Church in Dublin, GA, besides her faith in Christ, her greatest joy and the love of her life was her family and spending time with her son, daughter in law, and her grandchildren. They were indeed her greatest blessing on this earth. Glenda also enjoyed spending time with her mother in Ellijay, GA and gave her time selflessly to ensure her mother was care for and loved. Glenda was always willing to help others and always had a warm greeting and smile for everyone that knew her. Glenda had a tireless work ethic and was always the first to volunteer to help others. Whether it was to give a hug she felt was needed, or just a word of encouragement, Glenda loved others with all of her heart. Glenda also loved to cook for her family and always enjoyed trying a new recipe. Glenda had a true servant heart that was a blessing to all that knew her. Glenda retired from the Davidsons Macys company after a long career in finance.
Ms. Bridges is survived by her loving son and daughter in law, Mike and Terry Bridges of Irwinton, GA. Her Mother, Dorothy C. Kirkland, of Ellijay, GA. Her grandchildren, John Wesley Bridges and Josie Michaela Bridges, two brothers, Jimmie Kirkland of San Francisco, CA, J.D. Kirkland of Ellijay, Ga and five sisters, Glenda’s beloved twin sister whom she adored Brenda (Bill) Parks of Ellijay, GA, Ginger, (Steve) Salle of Canton, GA, Nanette (Ronald) Knight of Ellijay, GA Beverly (Tommy) Prince of Ellijay, GA and Trish Kirkland of Duluth GA. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday in the funeral home.
